Ocean Fest 2007 Lets Wannabe Diver's Join in

Location: Fort Lauderdale Beach near East Las Olas / A1A

When: April 20th - 22nd

Unlike many street venue festivals, Ocean Fest allows it's participants to join in and get wet with the professionals. With over 150 exhibits lining the beach, there has to be something to tickle your fancy.

Some of the events they advertise are
Beach parties with food, drink, and music
Free kids scuba program
Underwater treasure hunt
Ecology and dive seminars

This is sure to be a family affair, and all ages are welcome to join in on the fun. Children under 12 are free, and all others are $9 per day or $19 for the weekend, which if you plan to be in the area is a great price considering you only pay $1 for the third day.

I have never been down to the beach for the event but the website, found at www.oceanfest.com, lists pictures to give you an overall idea of how the festival is run. One of the greatest things I noticed is that all the venders are situated under a large tent, so shopping through them won't require a large amount of sunscreen, always an added plus for me.

Hope to see you there!
